WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BOOTS?!.

FIRST THINGS FIRST.

Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to see us at the festival last weekend! We had a fantastic time and it was lovely to chat about mountains and adventure with so many of you. We had almost 200 entries to the competition with eight of you getting the answer pretty much bang on and lots of really creative answers, too. As a thank you we’d like to offer all of you 20% off across the site. Just use code KMF at the checkout! You’ve earned it! Laurie - EIC Founder

so what did happen to the boots?

These boots were used in an attempt to climb all 214 Wainwrights continuously, unsupported. After 12 days of hiking in winter conditions my feet had become both swollen and incredibly soft. Anywhere my boots had even the slightest crease/indentation they were essentially just rubbing my skin off. Having run out of bandages I had no choice but to cut the boots to relieve pressure on my poor toes and heels. The boots and my feet managed roughly 27 miles in that condition before I made the decision to call it a day with 150 Wainwrights completed - a record at the time. I ended up in A&E with suspected frost bite but made a full recovery aside from a few scars. You can see more details and a photo (graphic content warning on the far right image) here and here.
